. . . that since all those folks at LWRC Forum are paying up the ass for their ARs, they must all have a money tree in their back yard. I should register on the forum and occasionally show up and post whatever RARE junk I can't sell on GunBroker there. Since I'm a member, they will feel sorry for me and buy my collectibles. I don't know about you guys but this shite drives me crazy. I'd ask the moderators to make a mandatory amount of posts required before being able to sell anything but I'm afraid we will get a bunch of "LOL" and "WOW" posts in response to legit topics. I think a quiz on basic LWRC knowledge and maybe on some members would weed out the salesmen. Like who's the boss here? OR Does LWRC sell toasters? (trick question :D ) Even people that mostly read vs. post have 50+ posts on record.

I don't have an opinion on the post count, but while this is a free country this is a privately owned forum and they can regulate it anyway they see fit.

The mandatory post count thing never helps, it just results in a lot of, "Nice rifle" posts in other forums until they get there post count up! :)

Have you read what Darren "the Toastmeister" had posted about the new Marketplace forums? http://forum.lwrci.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=7213

This is a privately owned forum and the "owners" can put whatever restriction they want to. Heck, they can flat out ban any other brand of AR to be sold via the Marketplace if they wanted to (NOTE: I'm not implying that they would or should do this).

IMHO, people who wish to sell here should be initially, individually vetted before they are allowed to start doing so. That should keep the riff raff out. The problem is who would have the time to do so.

I believe there is a fairly solid feedback thread too. If you don't know who you're buying from, then see if they appear there. If they don't, then (hope for the best but) buyer beware.

I agree with you andreys. While chainring is right about them just building up their post count, maybe instead they could make a rule where you need to be a member for a certain period of time (and perhaps own an LWRC?) before you can sell anything.

@HELO PILOT: first off, with all due respect, this is a private forum and the owners can regulate it as they see fit . Secondly, my suggestion for minimum number of post before a sales pitch was more of a joke because I did say that it wouldn't work in the original post. All I'm merrily suggesting is some sort of regulation. I will not buy anything from someone who's been registered for over a year, posted 4 times, and their most active thread was their sales pitch. By the way , welcome to the forum, we are happy to have you here and enjoy your stay.

I don't understand your hate andreys, the man is clearly just trying to sell a rifle...a pretty cool one at that. I don't give a shite if he's only got 4 posts. You only have 500 posts...does that make you only have one quarter of the credibility and intelligence that say, Simon has with his 2k posts? I don't know you, but I wouldn't think that's a true statement.

Just let it be.

I don't think it's cool to register here just to sell stuff. Dealers excluded.

I think it is cool as long as they don't screw anyone. We don't need a nanny rule like this for sales.

I am on the fence. One one hand I don't like people peddling their wares on us if it is garbage. At the same time when someone comes on with an actual deal like a surefire scout with LED conversion for $200 (hint hint I am looking for this :) ) I don't mind what they do.

Let's agree to disagree and wrap this discussion up. It was turning a bit ugly.
