Another compatibility question.

Postby Jhenderson27 » Sun Sep 10, 2017 9:35 am

To what point are CSASS compatibie with AR10 parts, I generally tend to run Proof carbon barrels on a lot of my competition guns and being we have a great rifle league around here along with 3 gun, I would like to have the potential to swap barrels once I've used up the factory one. Does the CSASS take all AR10 ones and Is it possible to swap in say a Lancer handguard, not sure if I would as I really dig the quality of the factory ones, but knowing I have options is nice.

Thanks all.

I don't know about the barrel extension but changing the barrel would be difficult. The gas block is pinned and, I believe, press fit with a 2 ton press. On top of that the gas block is proprietary with the piston nozzle. I'm sure it could be done if you have the skill and knowledge but I'm not sure the juice would be worth the squeeze.

So when you kill a barrel, which I do about every 18months, I am forced to send KGB back and have a new factory only one done by lwrc?

You kill a barrel in 18 months!! G dam, I'm jealous. You must work just to pay for ammo/reloading components.

Shootings 3 gun matches a few times a month plus practice, not hard to run 5-10k through the gun. Now a .308 will not be as much as my 223, but still, wanted to know what my options were as I like choices.

Barrel will do much better than 5 to 10k.

Yeah the 556 barrels are rated at 20k. I beleive the 762 is the same. 556 swap runs around 4 beans cant imagine its much more than 6 for yours. Call CS, let us know what the pricing is...

A barrel is something you would have to send to us to be swapped. As mentioned, this is generally a pretty quick swap in our tech department. If you shot this one out (which would take quite a bit of rounds) getting a new one would not take too long.
