The Browe optics are nice. If your looking for a 4x take a look at the Elcan as well.

If I can't find a good deal on the VCOG somewhere I'll probably go Acog 4x32 and mount a red dot in a one o'clock offset and skip the backup irons. Might as well go all out right? Everyone needs just one rifle that's completely over the top.

Dude...unless you're a WWE wrestler I bet you a dollar you lighten up that rifle in short order.

That's why it's on the BCM, with the enhanced fluted barrel and KMR rail and the stock is a Magpul UBR for counter balance. The VCOG is a beast.

Ok, so I can't stop going back and forth about the optic choice. I have found this. Burris XTR II 1.5-8x28mm Riflescope - Ballistic 5.56 Gen3 For less than $1000 on Optics Planet. It's a 1-8x DFP and includes a Fastfire plus mounts..

II know it's a big piece of kit but come on......a 1-8x XTR II and a Fastfire III for less than $1000. Can anyone else tell me if they think this is a good bet iPod do I need to stay high end. I'm trying to get the most bang for the buck here since the rifle cost a ton.

If I have to save up some more and go VCOG or ACOG 6x48 I will if I have to. This rifle is going to be totally tricky out. TImney Trigger, VIckers/Blue Force Gear 2 point Sling. And Thunderbeast 30P-1 (with adaptor).

Rifle gets here in a few hours and I can't sleep, with all the excitement

When in doubt, avoid Burris, i have a Vortex Viper PST 1-4 that i love, my understanding is they are discontinuing most of the PST line to make room for a new/"better" line

I,have it heard Qnything about the PSt line being replaced. They just revamped them with the Gen II scopes. Take,a look at this model.....about $850 on optics, planet. http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vor ... le/reticle

Agreed about Burris. Glass isn't the only thing that differentiates a quality scope from the also-rans. The unseen guts of what's inside the tube can be high end design and production. For instance, the spring steel that centers the reticle which results in stability of that reticle. Without that quality, you'll never stay sighted in. Then, there are the tolerances between all those small parts. Tight costs more than slop.

Some gun people say expect to spend the same amount on optics that you spent on your rifle. I couldn't afford to do that with my 1st LWRC (the A3) but I did get what I thought was the best scope & mount system I could afford when I purchased my Accupoint 1x4 with the Larue QD mount. And I stayed under $1,000. Plus, LaRue threw in Dillo Dust, a cap, and cool bumper stickers.

If you're on a budget Vortex over Burris all day. I wouldn't ever buy a Burris anything.

Vortex 1x6 strike eagle. Yeah, it's not a $4K Swarovski but it is no slouch and will do what you're looking for.

I would stay away from Burris. Leupold, Vortex, Nightforce & Trijicon would suit you best IMO. I have 1 of the 500 ICs.
My choice was the Leupold MK6 1-6. It does what I want for my needs. Built solid, have had zero issues with it. I'm sure you've heard this a few times.....buy once, cry once.

OP, you need to look long & hard before buying an optic. I spent about a year of looking, reading reviews, asking in here and the guys at my LGS.

I happened onto my Leupold due to one of the guys at my LGS calling me and telling me they've received this scope and having me come in to look at it. I went in, looked through it, liked it. Went home and did research for a few days. Went back & bought it.

As others have said, expect to spend close to what your rifle cost......well that's how it ended up for me. My rifle was $2,500, optic was $2,400 without the mount.

Aimpoint T1/2 or even H1/2 unless your trying to push the A5 which most don't but even then they make a 3x magnifier and soon to release a 6x..

Rifle arrived today and it's superb. Weighs a bit less than 7lbs with Ammo,or scope. I'm going to,do,some heavy reserving before I buy an optic. So far, the leader is the 1-8-24 Vortex platinum.

If that doesn't work I'll probably go agog,4x32 or get the VCOG?

Thanks for everybody's thoughts and suggestions on this I really appreciate it

If you still can't figure it out, do what I did and get both with Larue mounts, they're still zeroed after a year or two. I also got a second upper and typically leave both optics mounted. A T-1 on my 10.5" and an Acog 4x32 on my 16". I also have a third, a Leupold firedot 3-9 that mostly stays on my Six8 for hunting.
