Mounts for Canting RMR on M6

Postby jjasleby » Fri May 09, 2014 3:20 pm

Asked this question not too long ago. Worded it poorly. Also put it in the wrong section of the forum. Hoping to have more luck here.

I'd like to try running my RMR offset from the top rail of my M6IC 16.1". My primary optic is an ACOG 3x30, and I've been running the RMR on top of the ACOG for some time now. Looking to change things up and see if I prefer the offset approach.

If you're an IC owner and running a canted RMR or other MRD, what mounting system are you using? I am primarily concerned with finding a mount that will give me proper alignment with the barrel, so zeroing isn't an issue. Thanks.

I don't run one but if I did I'd go with the Daniel Defense 1oclock mount.

At the end of the day there just aren't a whole lot of folks running that setup...

Take a look at Thorntail. I personally don't have one but am looking at them to mount my Scout light to.

I have the older Trijicon ACOG 4X 32 TA31 H with a Larue quick release mount. Several weeks ago, I decided to take the plunge and bought the Trijicon RMR 7.0 MOA adjustable.

I have to tell you, I am really impressed with the RMR. It is really a sweet scope. It is small, light and easy to zero in.

I am so impressed with the RMR, I am seriously looking at purchasing another for a Glock that I have after buying a new machined slide to accommodate it. :yup:

I ran an offset RMR on my REPR for a long time, and I liked it a lot. This is the mount I used.

http://www.predatortactical.com/GEN_2_B ... R_p37.html

It is a really nice mount, and offers protection of the RMR on both sides by some very thick metal guards. I didn't really think it was necessary but left the guards on anyway, then slipped on a wet rock and landed RIGHT on the RMR on the rock. The RMR wasn't even touched, and it didn't even bend the guard protecting it. I really like this set-up, but ditched it because I live in Alaska and the RMR kept freezing over and wouldn't function because moisture got in behind the projector and fogged it up, so no dot was appearing.
