Well...it's 10/16/17. No updates to www.lwrci.com. Logan, are you able to share your brewing news yet?

It’s going to be the .224 Valkyrie. Just saw a FB post from Federal ammunition with the announcement and who the platform manufacturers will be and LWRC was on that list.

It’s going to be the .264 Valkyrie. Just saw a FB post from Federal ammunition with the announcement and who the platform manufacturers will be and LWRC was on that list.

I think you meant .224 Valkyrie. But it would be cool if LWRC got into 6.5mm (either Grendel or Creedmoor or both). I really do like 6.5mm.

These will ship relatively quick where it's using existing platforms.

Will this be going in a Six8 receiver set or a regular "Milspec" size receiver set?

From my understanding is the cartridge is based on the 6.8 SPC...

Does this mean that Magpul will be making the Six8 magazines available to other manufactures?

I've got two Six8's, so I am not looking to jump ship to another manufacturer; I am asking because maybe it will help increase popularity of the rounds (6.8 SPC and .224 Valkyrie)?

Hopefully .224 uppers will be available at the same time as the complete rifles. Can you give us any indication as to whether piston or DI, and what barrel lengths will be offered (20" seems like a natural, but curious as to performance drop off will be for this round)?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I'd love to confirm that uppers will be available and that they'll work on Six8 lowers. I recently found a great place on the BLM to shoot out to 1500yds and I'm looking forward to this development.

I do not believe other manufactures will be doing our Six8. They will likely be using the standard Barrett mags unless they decide to go another route.

Yes, 20" barrel Di. I'll be posting another thread soon. Just got the go-ahead to release information.

Thanks for the update. If you can put an adjustable gas block on the DI gun, I think those of us who shoot suppressed would be grateful.

The only reason I asked about other manufacturers using Six8 magazines is I thought I recalled something about them being proprietary to LWRC for some unspecified amount of time.

I'm just excited more is being done with the 6.8 stuff.

I think that case is a gold mine as far as potential in an AR15 type rifle.

For those who don't know, it's essentially based on a rimless version of the old .30-30 winchester cartridge.

I would really like a .30 Herrett version of the 6.8 made mainstream. It will give reliable function subsonic and will give better supersonic performance than .300 Blackout.

Yes, and ammo will likely be affordable and relatively easy to find. There are several manufacturers on board with this new caliber straight from the launch. That makes a big difference.

Still waiting on the final approval and I will post more. Based on the information I have seen (ballistics chart and caliber comparison); I'm impressed.
