BANG! ting BANG! ting, BANG! ting

Postby Kabookie » Fri Aug 05, 2016 9:02 pm

I've been spending more time shooting and not enough time on these forums to see if what i am experiencing is normal.

I got my IC-Enhanced last August and have put about 2,000 rounds through it so far. Every time i am at the range someone always notices and points out that every time I fire my rifle it makes a "Ting" sound. It sounds like a pitchfork or a high pitched dinner triangle. Does anyone else experience this or is this not normal?

I have been offered many opinions at the range but none have resolved the "Ting".

Any comments or suggestions?

What muzzle device is on it? If its the LWRC High Efficiency Flash Hider, that's the culprit. :yup:

Change that flash hider out for some thing else. It's great at what it does, but I kept noticing it every time I shot. I will say compared to the AAC flash hider is worse.

Cycle the charging handle by hand with and without a rubber band wrapped around the FH. The difference in sound is pretty neat. I never really notice it at the range because of the excessive noise elsewhere. I'll have to pay closer attention tomorrow while I'm out there...

Thanks for the info guys. I tapped the hider with a pencil and sure enough, that's the ting i am hearing. I went to the range today with this newly acquired knowledge about the flash hider and all I could do was laugh. I kept thinking to myself...

I finally noticed it while shooting last weekend. Didn't bother me in the least. Since I don't shoot steel targets, it kinda gives me the same satisfaction as hearing that ring. Sort of... LOL

Workin' on it! :D

I'm planning on swapping out all my muzzle devices and getting the flush mount OSS 30 cal can to use for all my center fire long guns. The videos I've seen of their gen 5 cans are pretty impressive. 8)
