LWRC 10.5in question

Postby rwatson » Mon Jul 22, 2013 4:33 pm

Hello,
I want to do a pin and weld on my lwrc 10.5 upper with a 5.5 extension, Adco says they can do it but i am worried it wont be legal length. I took it to a local guy but i dont think he measured from the bolt face to end of the extension. Any one have them do this with other 10.5 uppers?
thanks
rob

Have the upper re barreled to 14.7" with perm hider if you are trying to reach the 16" legal limit. If you can't have an SBR why have the ballistic retardation of such a short barrel?

asked that earlier of lwrc and they do bot have a way of currently swapping barrels. could I use a another manufacturer barrel? I put the upper for sale and don't want to wait a year for another tax stamp.

Who told you they can't do barrel changes? They do them; admittedly maybe not right now because of the panic buying. As long as the barrel is milspec M4 it should work with the LWRC upper receiver. I would look at Daniel Defense, I think DSGarms had some hammer forged available.

Bryan from LWRC responding to my generic email. I will look in to that option of a barrel swap on my own, everything should on my barrel and upper should match up with the new barrel?

I was just thinking about the barrel swap from another company, probably wouldn't work because of port size, too much gas. Your best bet would be to have LWRC change the barrel for one of their own.

Who told you we don't do barrels swaps? WTF... geez

We will definitely do a barrel swap for you. In fact you get to keep the old barrel. The old barrel will still have the gas block installed on it, and the barrel nut, ready for your next build.

Send in your upper to Service, the charge is $399.00. This covers a new barrel, barrel nut, gas block, installation, and labor. Email service@lwrci.com. If there is an issue, email me.

We will most definitely do that.

Glad this got settled. I had LWRC do a barrel swap in the other direction for me. It was quick, affordable and perfectly executed. Don't know where the confusion came from.

I called today to try and figure out everything and again i talked to someone who said the only barrel swaps that are currently being performed are ones that go in the opposite directions that i want. All the 16 inch barrels are being used for new production.
